광장영화제 "지슬" 취소합니다

세월호 희생자에 대한 국민적 추모 분위기 속에
광장에서 이루어지는 일체의 공연성 행사가 취소되었습니다.

본 회는 올해 제주 4.3사건의 국가기념일 제정 원년을 맞아
연대의 의미로 4.3사건을 정면으로 다룬 독립영화
"지슬"을 상영코자 하였으나 행사위원회 회의 결과
국민적 추모에 동참하기 위해 최종적으로 취소를 결정하였습니다.
 
많이 기대하셨을 터인데 취소하게 되어
사과의 말씀을 드립니다.

1980년 5월 17일, 종로에는 술취한듯한 군인들이 수 많은 트럭을 타고 군가를 부르며 가고 있었습니다. 아마도 광주로 가는 군인들로 짐작 됩니다. 그후에 미국에 살며 한국을 그리며 광주사태에 막말을 하는 자들을 저주하며 40년을 살았습니다. 언제나 우리는 전두환과 그 잔당을 처벌하고 나라를 바로 세울수 있을까요?

저는 5월 26일 광주에서 태어났습니다. 당시 저희 어머니는 병원에서 저를 못 나으시고 3일 고생하시어 저를 집에서 낳으셨지요. 5.18은 저에게 있어서 평생 잊을 수 없는 기억으로 남아 있습니다. 비록 당시를 직접 경험하고 기억하지 못했지만 5월에 광주에서 태어났어야 하는 이유만으로 꼬리표 처럼 저를 따라 다녔지요. 그분들이 목숨걸며 지키고 싶었던 민주화 국민들이 가져야 하는 권리를 갖을 수 있었던 그분들의 선혈...제가 죽을때까지 기억하겠습니다. 그분들의 목숨과 맞바꾼 저의 행복한 삶 깊이 새기며 간직하겠습니다. 제 자식들에게도 잊지 않도록 이역사를 알려주겠습니다. 다시 한번 감사드립니다.
