제36주년 5·18민중항쟁 기념행사위, 슬거건 확정 발표
행사위, 6일 국립5․18민주묘지서 출범식 갖고 본격 활동

'오월 광주, 기억을 잇다! 평화를 품다!'가 제36주년 5․ 18민중항쟁기념행사 슬로건으로 최종 확정됐다.

제36주년5.18민중항쟁기념행사위원회(상임 위원장 정구선. 집행위원장 김영정)는 지난 1일 행사위원장단, 집행위원 연석회의를 열고 시민공모  슬로건 중  '오월 광주, 기억을 잇다! 평화를 품다!”를 올해 슬로건으로 발표했다.

5.18행사위는 "36주년 슬로건으로 채택된 '오월 광주, 기억을 잇다! 평화를 품다!'는 5월을 지우고 역사를 왜곡하려는 이에 맞서 5월을 더욱 똑똑히 기억하겠다는 다짐의 표현"이라며 "5월의 눈으로 고통받는 민중의 삶과 모순된 현실을 극복하기 위해 참여하고 행동할 것을 강조하고 있다"고 설명했다. 

또 행사위는 "시민들의 참여와 행동을 통해 파괴된 민주주의와 왜곡된 역사를 바로잡고 남과 북의 화해와 협력으로 한반도의 평화를 실현해 가자는 의지를 담고 있다"고 강조했다.

제36주년 5·18민중항쟁 기념행사위원회는 오는 6일 오전10시 국립5.18민주묘지에서 참배와 함께 출범식을 열고 본격적인 5.18행사 준비에 들어갈 예정이다.

한편 지난해 제35주년 기념행사 슬로건은 '민주를 인양하라! 통일을 노래하라!'를 사용했었다.

1980년 5월 17일, 종로에는 술취한듯한 군인들이 수 많은 트럭을 타고 군가를 부르며 가고 있었습니다. 아마도 광주로 가는 군인들로 짐작 됩니다. 그후에 미국에 살며 한국을 그리며 광주사태에 막말을 하는 자들을 저주하며 40년을 살았습니다. 언제나 우리는 전두환과 그 잔당을 처벌하고 나라를 바로 세울수 있을까요?
